The Cross Cultural and Gender Center exists to contribute significantly to the continued development of a safe and welcoming environment for the Fresno State community. We foster meaningful dialogue and activism that works to eliminate racism, sexism, heterosexism, and other forms of oppression.
The Fresno State Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender + (LGBT+) Allies Network exists to promote the awareness of the needs of its members, and to advance the interests of faculty and staff who are LGBT+ or allies. Our goal is to provide solidarity and fellowship to LGBT+ identifying staff, faculty, and administrators on campus and in the larger community, and to support LGBT+ students, student groups, and programming.
Any Fresno State professor, department, or organization may request a presentation on Gender 101 or Identities (LGBTQ+) 101 to better educate themselves and their group on these issues. They may also request a panel where they may hear about the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals from a panel of 3 to 4 queer people (including a Q&A).
The Rainbow Alumni and Allies Club advances advocacy, promotes pride, and supports students. Rainbow Alumni and Allies Club also sponsors Rainbow Graduation and provides a $2,000 academic year scholarship to the President Elect of the United Student Pride Student Club.
