Cross Cultural and Gender Center

The Cross Cultural and Gender Center exists to contribute significantly to the continued development of a safe and welcoming environment for the Fresno State community. We foster meaningful dialogue and activism that works to eliminate racism, sexism, heterosexism, and other forms of oppression.

Q Clothing Closet

The Q Clothing Closet exists to provide FREE clothing to trans and gender-nonconforming folks, and anyone else who might need it. The clothing closet opens during scheduled pop-up shops that are announced under our Q Clothing Closet tab to your left! 

Student Health and Counseling Center

The Student Health and Counseling Center is an organization that is recognized for its commitment to providing leadership for health services on campus, and contributing to the success of students and the university community by promoting lifelong healthy behaviors, and creating healthy environments. 

Survivor Advocate

The Survivor Advocate exists to provide compassionate and confidential support for those who have experienced sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, stalking, and/or sexual harassment.

Women's Alliance Student Club

Women’s Alliance provides students with opportunities to further equality by doing activist work. They aim to promote awareness and educate the campus regarding social justice issues. K.I.S.S.

K.I.S.S. is a peer health ambassador program designed to bring medically accurate information on reproductive health to Fresno State college students.

The Peer Ambassadors of Wellness (PAW) program is responsible for promoting the health and wellness of our Fresno State students.

Breaking the Silence

Breaking the Silence is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising public awareness of child abuse and prevention techniques through survivor empowerment and community education.

Central Valley Justice Coalition

Central Valley Justice Coalition is a faith-based non-profit organization made up of churches, agencies, and passionate individuals who aim to prevent human trafficking in the Central Valley.

Centro La Familia

Centro La Familia has served low-income families throughout Fresno County for 38 years by providing access to life sustaining resources. Services include health/wellness, family strengthening, victim services, policy/leadership development, and immigration.  

The Family Healing Center

The Family Healing Center provides critical services to women and children who are survivors of sexual and physical abuse and domestic violence as well as those who witness abuse.

Fresno EOC

Fresno EOC aims to create healthy communities with equal access to social justice, jobs, education and resources by empowering individuals to thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of their communities. They do this by providing access to much-needed resources such as education, housing, health care, financial help, and employment.

IGNITE 

IGNITE promotes women’s political ambition by instilling a sense of confidence in participants through the building of their leadership skills and the deepening of their expertise around policy issues. They offer a powerful network of elected women who serve as role models and help participants access opportunities to exercise political leadership and prepare to run and lead.

League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters of Fresno is a nonprofit, nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. They aim to influence public policy through education and advocacy.

Marjaree Mason Center

Marjaree Mason Center provides emergency and longer-term safe housing, along with a wide variety of support services for victims of domestic violence in Fresno County.

Mollie's House

Mollie's House is a faith-based non-profit organization whose specific purpose is to serve young women who are victims of sexual trafficking. They provide twenty-four hour residential care for girls between the ages of 12 and 17 as well as mental health services. 

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood works to provide education regarding reproductive health as well as a variety of health services including contraception, STD testing and prenatal care. 

Rape Crisis Services of Fresno

RCS Fresno aims to end rape and sexual violence and support and empower survivors while supporting safe, consensual relationships.

Survivors of Incest Anonymous

Survivors of Incest Anonymous for Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse is a 12-step, self-help recovery program modeled after AA. Their mission is to empower survivors of childhood sexual abuse and to help them thrive.

 

Women's International League for Peace and Freedom

The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is the oldest women's peace organization in the world and works for peace, justice, disarmament and human rights.

Trans-E-Motion

Trans-E-Motion honors and celebrates the lives of transgender persons to bring about social change for the benefit of the transgender/transsexual community through activities and events that bring education, understanding, and support to all. 

Trans Friendly Doctor

Julie Nicole is a trans-friendly physician at Central Valley OB/GYN who provides the following services: Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Hysterectomies. They also refer out for the following reasons: Breast Reductions and Phalloplasty for Trans Men and Vaginoplasty for Trans Women

Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline is a national organization offering support for trans people and is completely staffed by trans people. They offer micro-grants to cover fees associated with legal name changes and have guides on exactly what paperwork you will need to change your name on all legal documents.

Fresno EOC's LGBTQ+ Resource Center

Fresno EOC’s LGBTQ+ Resource Centerprovides support services to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals of all ages in the LGBTQ+ community.

California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA)

 

California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) fights for justice and individual rights alongside the most exploited communities of our society. CRLA regularly represents LGBTQ clients in a variety of types of legal cases, including immigration, employment discrimination and education matters, as well as legal name and gender change petitions.

Point of Pride

Point of Pride is a non-profit organization that works to support trans youth and adults who otherwise lack access through gender-affirming programs that empower them to live more authentically. They advocate for health care reform and the national adoption of inclusive health care policies that protect and serve the trans community. They offer an Annual Transgender Surgery Fund {link: pointofpride.org/annual-transgender-surgery-fund} as well as other related services.

US Birth Certificatesassists in obtaining your birth certificate online.

Changing your documents as part of your transition is often an important and highly symbolic step. It validates and recognizes your identity and allows you to live your life as your gender. Identity documents, of course, are issued by your state of residence and the rules for any and all alterations vary state-by-state. Therefore, it is important to know what steps you will need to take in order to reflect your identity. To make this process a little easier, our resource outlines some of the guidelines you’ll need to follow in order to update your birth certificate to reflect your legal change of gender.
