Fresno State is considered a "commuter campus" meaning many of the students do not live near campus and may not spend a great deal of time on campus besides to attend classes. In addition, the average student works two jobs and has a variety of obligations outside of their academic pursuits. The rigorous schedules of our students makes for hard working and dedicated future employees, but it is sometimes difficult to catch their attention!
As an employer, it is beneficial to use a variety of media to get in touch with faculty, students, alumni, and the campus community as a whole. The following links will show various avenues through which you can get the word out about your organization.
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:
We refer all students looking for jobs to our job search database, BulldogLink. Through this site, you can register for upcoming Career Fairs, register for on-campus recruiting, or simply post an opportunity on the job board.
You can become a sponsor at one of our Career Fairs. This will place you in a prime location to grab student attention at the event as well as place your logo on the event homepage. For more information about upcoming fairs, click on the above link.
Providing a sponsorship to Career Services will help the Career Counselors have your organization in the forefront of their minds. Also, sponsorships could place your company logo in the rolling link on the home page of Career Services for all students, alumni, faculty, and staff to see when they visit our page. You can see the current rolling employer logos by clicking on the link above.
Employers also have the opportunity to sponsor specific Career Services programs. Enterprise sponsored our use of the OptimalResume system, a web-based, resume development and tutorial tool. From this sponsorship, the students see the Enterprise logo whenever they log in to use OptimalResume. Other such opportunities exist.
The Senior Experience program is geared toward students who have 90 units and above and therefore need information pertinent to graduation, job hunting, and adjusting to life after Fresno State. As many of these students are looking for jobs, The Senior Experience initiative could be a great one in which to get involved. There are opportunities to sponsor a celebratory event such as a tailgate, or a more professionally oriented activity such as a networking event or speaking series. Either way, your event would be blasted to the 6500 seniors on our listserv. For further information, please contact Nora Marmolejo at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 559.278.2381.
