Debbie Young, PHR, SHRM-CP, MBA
Debbie Young has served in the role of Director of the Career Development Center since July 2015. She joined Fresno State in 1989 as a full-time lecturer in the Craig School of Business, Department of Management, teaching in areas of organizational behavior, management principles, strategic management and human resources management. For 15 years, she also served as the Director of the Office of Student and Professional Development placing thousands of students in academic internships.
In addition to her experience in higher education, Debbie worked in the health care industry for over 12 years in various roles including Director of Training and Education for the Fresno Surgery Center.
Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration - Health Care Administration option from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Business Administration from the Gladys Kelce School of Business at Pittsburg State University, Kansas. She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR & CSHRM).
Debbie and her husband Greg of 36 years have two sons, Mike and Chris. Chris graduated with a biology degree from Fresno State in 2016. Debbie is an advocate for adults with congenital heart disease. Throughout her lifetime, Debbie has lived in four states including North Dakota, Arizona, Kansas and California.
