Keynote Speaker

Dr. L-Jay Fine

Dr. L-Jay Fine
Dr. L-Jay Fine has been a member of California State University system for the past twenty-two years.  As a faculty member in the Department of Recreation Administration , he has directed the experiential education program including the E.D.G.E. Challenge Course. Dr. Fine oversees the Adventure Based Programming Certificate and the Adventure Recreation and Tourism Specialization . He has facilitated hundreds of team and leadership programs and provides executive leadership development for Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Dow, and Cisco Systems.
Dr. Fine has published several articles in the field experiential and adventure education, interagency collaboration, and team-work.  Currently, he has a book at the editors titled The Guide's Guide:  Best Practices in Adventure Tour Leadership.
In 2005, he received the Provost's Award in Teaching Excellence .  Dr. Fine currently has a Fellowship with the Center for Teaching Excellence where he is working with Fresno State Faculty who are invested in engaged learning practices
