Adding a Course

Fall 2017 Adding Deadlines and Financial Impact

Adding one or more classes to maintain enrollment in the current semester.

Note: Students may add classes without permission is space is available or via the Waitlist process through September 5. Beginning September 6, students can only add classes by using a permission number issued by the instructor. The final deadline to add a class with a permission number is September 19.

Dropping a Course

Fall 2017 Dropping Deadlines and Financial Impact

Dropping one or more classes during a semester but still maintaining some enrollment. If you are going to completely withdraw from ALL classes, please see section below.

Note: The deadline to drop/withdraw to receive a 100% refund of registration and/or tuition fees is Monday, August 21st. You will start accruing charges on your account as of the first day of instruction for the semester.

Process to Drop Period Beginning Deadline Date Financial Impact
Drops done online via Student Center. No form or permission required. August 22 September 12 (15th day)  
REFUND DEADLINE September 5 11:59PM (online) Last day to be eligible for a refund of registration fees due to drop in unit load.
Complete Drop/Withdrawal form and obtain required signatures. No “W” will show on transcript. September 13 September 19 (Census)  
Drops require serious & compelling reason. Complete Drop/Withdrawal form and obtain required signatures. Will receive “W” on transcript. September 20 November 14 (12th week  
Drops only allowed for reasons beyond a student’s control. Visit the Admissions & Records Office for more information. November 15 ((20%) December 6 (last 3 weeks)

Fall 2017 Complete Withdrawal Deadlines and Financial Impact

Withdrawing from the semester means discontinuing ALL course participation from the semester.

Note: The deadline to drop/withdraw to receive a 100% refund of registration and/or tuition fees is Monday, August 21st. PRIOR to the semester beginning. You will start accruing charges on your account as of the first day of instruction for the semester.

Complete Drop/Withdrawal form. No “W” will show on transcript. August 22 September 12 (15th day)  
REFUND DEADLINE September 5 11:59PM (online) Last day to be eligible for a refund of registration fees due to drop in unit load.
Complete Drop/Withdrawal form and obtain required signatures. No “W” will show on transcript. September 13 September 19 (Census) Must have Financial Aid exit interview.
REFUND DEADLINE October 27 5:00PM (in-person) Last day to submit a complete withdrawal and be eligible for pro-rated refund of registration and/or tuition fees. No refunds granted after this date.
Drops only allowed for reasons beyond a student’s control. Visit the Admissions & Records Office for more information. November 15 ((20%) December 6 (last 3 weeks) No refunds or pro-rated fees are allowed at this point. Please contact Student Accounts for petition process.
