The Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Safety Council (ATODSC) was established in recognition of the need for a campus and community-wide approach to preventing alcohol and drug-related problems. Promoting a safe campus culture requires the shared leadership and collaboration of campus and community representatives.

The Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Safety Council is comprised of community leaders, prevention specialists, law enforcement officers administrators, staff, faculty and students from Fresno State.The Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Paul Oliaro, serves as Chair of the council.

ATODSC Mission:

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Safety Council strives to promote and sustain a safe, healthy, and responsible learning environment regarding alcohol choices by developing and coordinating alcohol-related education, prevention and intervention programs, practices and policies and advising and collaborating with the University administration, campus and community on alcohol-related issues.

ATODSC Safety Council Ad Hoc Committee:

The purpose of this ad hoc committee was to examine Fresno State’s alcohol and drug prevention programming and to make recommendations to improve opportunities for students to reduce their risk for alcohol poisoning.

Drug & Alcohol Awareness & Wellness Guide (DAAWG) Program:

This program is designed to provide students with entry level experience in planning and implementing health education and promotion in the area of alcohol and other drugs. The DAAWG program strives to prevent drug related problems by promoting a campus culture of safe and responsible use of alcohol tobacco and other drugs through interactive workshops, information tables, website material, posters, and Stall Street Journals. Students from all majors are welcome to apply to the program that recruits at the end of the semester.
