Academic Probation and Disqualification
Undergraduate students whose campus or cumulative grade point average (GPA) falls below a 2.00 are placed on probation (see chart below). If a student is currently on returning on probation status and does not meet their contract, they will be placed on academic disqualification and dismissed from the University.
Probation: The campus and/or cumulative (total) GPA is less than a 2.00, but above the Disqualification range. The campus and cumulative GPA must be maintained above the Probation: Disqualification Range in order to be eligible to continue the next semester.
Probation: Disqualification Range: The campus and/or cumulative (total) GPA is less than a 2.00 and in the Disqualification range. The campus and cumulative GPA must advance above the Probation: Disqualification Range in order to be eligible to continue the next semester.
Returning on Probation: Student who has been academically disqualified, reapplied to the university and was re-admitted. Required to meet contract to maintain enrollment.
Academic Disqualification: Student who has been academically disqualified, dismissed from Fresno State and will need to reapply.
Good Standing:Student with a campus and cumulative GPA of a 2.00 or higher.

Undergraduate students placed on academic disqualification and dismissed at the end of the semester are encouraged to contact the University Advising Center in Joyal Administration Building, room 224 or call (559) 278-1787 regarding the Steps for Readmission.
Graduate students placed on academic disqualification at the end of the semester should contact the Division of Graduate Studies in the Thomas Administration Building, room 132 or call (559) 278-2448.
