Dr. Masood is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science. His research and teaching interests are in American political institutions, judicial politics, and research methodology. The substantive focus of his research lies at the intersection of judicial decision-making behavior and the policy impact of the courts. He is particularly interested in exploring hierarchical interactions within the courts, especially lower court applications of the U.S. Supreme Court's precedents. His methodological interests center on measurement theory and improving statistical inference.
Dr. Masood received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 2016. His research has been published at American Politics Research and the Journal of Law and Courts.
