Renaissance Scholars Program

The Renaissance Scholars Program was established in 2008 to serve Fresno State undergraduate and graduate students who have experienced foster care and students who are certified independent youth. Our program is a component of the Educational Opportunity Program within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. We are a support program committed to ensure students’ success through a holistic lens.

The Renaissance Scholars Program is committed to serving students who have experienced foster care or are certified independent youth earn a university degree and become leaders in the community.

The program aspires to provide a welcoming environment, create a community of support, and provide resources that cultivate personal, academic and professional growth. 

Our Services

Our services guide and support our scholars reach their goals and succeed in their careers:

Academic Advising

Attend one-on-one meetings with Academic Counselors and Peer Mentors.

Personal Development

Learn, reflect and grow through our program workshops, and guest speakers.

Financial Assistance

Benefit from the financial assistance provided to eligible students in good standing such as: Emergency Funds, Educational Related Funds, and the RSP Program Financial Support

Networking

Participate in the program LINC, celebrations, community service, and student involvement to create strong lasting relationships with peers, staff, alumni, and community supporters.

Essential Needs

Obtain access to essential need items including hygiene products, school supplies, household items, and other similar supplies.
