The TRG Electronic Journal - Educational Renaissance
Educational Renaissance is accepting manuscripts for all future issues
What is Educational Renaissance?
Educational Renaissance is an on-line publication sponsored by The Renaissance Group (TRG), a national consortium of colleges, universities and a professional organization, with a major commitment to the preparation of educational professionals, and to the promotion of exemplary practices, partnerships and leadership that ensure high levels of teaching and learning for all of America’s schools.
Educational Renaissance is published twice a year to facilitate communication among professionals who work in schools and universities, and those whose research focuses on teacher preparation as well as the improvement and reform of education locally, regionally and nationally.
Manuscripts submitted to Educational Renaissance should conform to the language, style, and a modified format of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed., 2009). Manuscripts should be prepared in Word, be single-spaced, use 12 font, contain a 100-word abstract, have author(s) identifying information appear on the title page only, and consist of no more than 30 pages in length (including equations, tables, figures, footnotes, quotes, and references). Mathematical symbols should be clear and concise. Tables, figures, and diagrams must be photocopy-ready for publication.
All manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the editor through the Open Access journal system.
Once received by the editor, manuscripts will be anonymously peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers. The review process will take approximately 2 to 3 months. A letter acknowledging receipt of the manuscript will be sent to the first author, and upon review completion, a letter indicating the peer-review decision will be sent to the first author. Potential authors are encouraged to contact the editor to discuss ideas for contributions or determine if their manuscript is suitable for publication in Educational Renaissance.

Educational Renaissance is an open access journal. It is available at no cost to readers who register at the Educational Renaissance Journal website.
The Mission
The mission of Educational Renaissance is to publish research and analyses that advance the exemplary preparation of teachers through university and college commitment to the transformation of education for meeting societal needs.
Educational Renaissance provides an interdisciplinary forum among educators at the Professorial, Dean, Provost and Presidential levels. The focus of the journal is on promising practices, policy, and research in teacher, counselors and school administrator preparation. Of particular interest is research that speaks to The Renaissance Group Principles.
Educational Renaissance publishes four types of articles:
- Feature Articles, Reviews/Essays/Responses, Case Stories and Book/Media Reviews. Feature Articles present important data-based research results of broad significance for the preparation of educators.
- Reviews/Essays/Responses describe new developments related to educator preparation and may address issues of relevance to the field of education in general. These should be research-based and well referenced.
- Case Stories describe particular innovative attempts to improve practice or particular situations that may inform the field.
- Book and Media Reviews examine recent works that are likely to be of interest to teacher educators.
From the Director of The Renaissance Group
Dear Educational Leaders, Colleagues and Friends of The Renaissance Group (TRG):
After some understandable delays, the Inaugural Issue of The Renaissance Group’s first eJournal, Educational Renaissance, is near completion, and we are now accepting manuscripts for all issues. We are very excited about this accomplishment, designed to showcase the very best educator preparation programs and practices implemented at higher education institutions and professional organizations, and look forward to publishing our Inaugural Issue in Spring 2012. The Simon Fraser University Library is the official host site of Educational Renaissance. The Editors/Reviewers Board and planning team presently consist of 25 plus administrators and faculty from our TRG member institutions.
You are cordially invited to submit manuscripts for all future issues, and encourage your entire team of administrators and faculty to participate. Please share this invitation with all faculty on your campuses. After the first issue, we will extend an invitation to colleagues from throughout the country. We look forward to including your outstanding work in Educational Renaissance. Thank you!
Respectfully,
Michael Giovannetti,
Executive Director, The Renaissance Group
