Information Regarding CR/NC Grading Request Form

Posted on April 29, 2020

Attention Fresno State Students:

As mentioned in the email you received on Friday, April 3 from Provost Saul Jimenez-Sandoval and Acting VP of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Carolyn Coon, Fresno State has passed a number of grading accommodation changes for Spring 2020 only. All undergraduate and graduate students will be eligible to petition to have their letter grades converted to CR/NC grading based on the charts below.

For some students, it is important to understand that a CR/NC option can impact their long-term financial aid. Please review the FAQ before submitting the request. Connecting to an advisor is critical throughout this process. If you have questions, or if you are unclear as to what impact CR/NC may have on future semesters, please reach out to your college advising center.

Students can choose on a course-by-course basis which courses they would like to convert to a CR/NC grade.  Prior to submitting your request you should review the list of courses that have opted-out of allowing students to request a CR/NC grade.

Directions to Request CR/NC Grading

  • Students can start viewing their unofficial grades as early as Monday, May 11th.
  • As grades do not all post on the same day, please check your My Fresno State Student Center for your unofficial grade(s) before submitting a CR/NC grading request.
  • Course grades must be posted before your request will be reviewed.
  • Requests for courses with a letter "A" grade will be automatically denied.

The form to fill out a CR/NC Request will be available on our website Monday, May 11, 2020.  It must be submitted to the University Registrar by Monday, June 1, 2020.
