CORE COMMITMENTS
AND THE
INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW STRUCTURE
The WASC Senior Commission has developed the institutional review
structure around two Core Commitments.
The First Core Commitment
The first core commitment is assessed
in the Preparatory Review Essay, which is a review of institutional
capacity and of the institution's preparedness for the second core
commitment review, the Educational Effectiveness
Review Essay.
Statement of First Core Commitment
The institution functions with clear purposes,
high levels of institutional integrity, fiscal stability, and organizational
structures and processes to fulfill its purposes.
The Second Core Commitment
The second core commitment is assessed
in the Educational Effectiveness Review, which is, as the name
suggests, a review of the institution's ability to successfully
deliver an appropriate education.
Statement of Second Core Commitment
The institution evidences clear and appropriate
educational objectives and design at the institutional and program
levels, and employs processes of review, including the collection
and use of data, that assure the delivery of programs and learner
accomplishments at a level of performance appropriate for the degree
or certificate awarded. |
