Calculus Readiness Test Fall 2012

Math 75/75A Placement Policy

  • The Calculus Readiness Test (CRT) is required for enrollment in Math 75 or Math 75A.
  • The CRT consists of two parts:
    • the first part (60 minutes) has 40 questions covering various topics, and
    • the second part (20 minutes) has 10 trigonometry questions.
  • In order to enroll in Math 75 or Math 75A, there are three requirements:
    • You must meet the ELM requirement.
    • You must have taken, and passed, either precalculus or all of elementary geometry, intermediate algebra, and trigonometry.
    • You must pass the Calculus Readiness Test (CRT).

Understanding Your CRT Results

  • If your score is at least 21/40 on the first part of the exam and at least 6/10 on the Trigonometry portion of the exam, you are eligible to enroll in Math 75.
  • If your score is at least 14/40 on the first part of the exam and at least 4/10 on the Trigonometry portion of the exam, you are eligible to enroll in Math 75A.
  • If your score does not meet the requirements to enroll in Math 75 or Math 75A, you may want to consider enrolling in Math 5 (Trigonometry) or Math 6 (Precalculus).

      • Date: April 9 to May 11
        • Location: Academic Testing Center, Family & Food Science Building, Room 210
        • Time: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm
          Wednesday, 11:00am-5:00pm

      • Date: May 21 to May 25
        • Location: Academic Testing Center, Family & Food Science Building, Room 210
        • Time: Monday through Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm

      • Date: June 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29
                  July 2, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20, 2012
        • Location: Academic Testing Center, Family & Food Science Building, Room 210
        • Time: 2:30pm-5:00pm
        • PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST ARRIVE AT THE ACADEMIC TESTING CENTER NO LATER THAN 3:30 p.m. IN ORDER TO TAKE THE EXAM ON THESE DATES.

      • Date: June 9, 23
                  July 7, 14, 21
        • Location: Academic Testing Center, Family & Food Science Building, Room 210
        • Time: 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm
        • PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST ARRIVE AT ONE OF THESE THREE TIMES TO TAKE THE EXAM ON THESE DATES.

      • Date: August 17, 2012 to September 7 (closed September 3)
        • Location: Academic Testing Center, Family & Food Science Building, Room 210
        • Time: Monday through Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm

    YOU MUST SHOW YOUR STUDENT ID TO TAKE THE TEST! If you do not have your Fresno State student ID card, you may show your driver's license and provide the testing center with your student ID number. You are allowed 80 minutes to take the test: 60 minutes for the first part of the exam, and 20 minutes for the second part of the exam. No calculators are allowed. Please bring #2 pencils.

  • You may take the CRT only once during the Fall semester for Spring registration.
  • You may take the CRT only once during the Spring or Summer semester for Fall registration.
  • If you took the CRT two or more semesters ago, you must re-take the CRT in order to enroll in Math 75 or Math 75A.
  • Even if you have taken and passed Math 5 or Math 6, you still need to take and pass the CRT in order to enroll in Math 75 or Math 75A.
