2011 - 2012 Events
- Friday, September 23, 2011, 5:30 p.m.: Friends of the Madden Library Annual Dinner honoring Professor Emeritus Vince Petrucci, who built the university's Viticulture and Enology program. Our speaker will be Dr. John De Luca, former president of the California Wine Institute. The reception will begin with samplings of Fresno State wines and food products. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction limited to high quality wine-related items.
- Friday, November 4, 2011, 6:00 p.m.: Dan Pessano, founder and managing director of Fresno's Good Company Players, presents "The Musical: Where are we Going, Where Have We Been--A Director's Memoir." His talk complements the library's music and media collection-one of the best in the CSU System. Call 278-5790 to RSVP.M.
- Friday, January 20, 2012, 6:00 p.m.: A look at the library's map collection: Professor of Geography C. K. Leung will present "Maps: Historical Evolution and Contemporary Developments," which include geographic information systems (GIS) and Google Earth. Call 278-5790 to RSVP.
- Friday March 23, 2012, 6:00 p.m.: "An Overview of the State of Education in Fresno County," panel discussion with Superintendents Larry Powell and Michael Hanson, as well as Sanger's award-winning superintendent, Marc Johnson. - Friday, May 4, 2012, 6:00 p.m.: The library's very own dean Peter McDonald will focus on our poetry collection with, "Can Poetry Save the World? The Power of Eloquent Language to Transform our Planet." Call 278-5790 to RSVP.

- January 14 - "100 Years of Architecture in Fresno" with Lauren MacDonald, local architectural historian
- March 11 - "A Century of Educational Innovation" by Rick Hansen, Fresno State professor of English and a tour of the new University High School featuring the UHS Chamber Singers
- April 8 - Fresno state alumnus and vurator, author, filmmaker, and producer Kerry Yo Nakagawa will share his multi-media projects, documentaries, curriculum, and film "American Pastime"
