Undergraduate Loan Policies
Borrower limits effective March 2011
Your campus-issued photo ID (Fresno State KeyCard) is required for all transactions.
Loan Periods
- 28 days for most books, scores, Teacher Resource Center items, and government documents
- 2 hours, 1 or 3 days for Course Reserves items; 4 hours or 3 days for Music & Media Reserves
- 4 hours for Dell or Macbook Pro laptops
- 28 days for Linux or No Operating System laptops
- 7 days for current periodicals, Music & Media DVDs, Flip ultra HD cameras, audio cassettes, compact discs, videos and bound periodicals
- 3 days for reference items
- 21 days for items borrowed from other libraries through Link+
- 2 hours for Group and Individual Study Rooms
- Laptops and headphones (from Music & Media and laptop area) are due back before the close of business each day.
Renewals and Recalls
- You may renew most books online or in person at the Circulation Desk, 1st floor. Overdue items must be renewed in person at the Circulation Desk.
- Recalled items may not be renewed.
- Books recalled by another patron must be returned within 10 days. You will be notified of the recall at your Fresno State e-mail address.
Maximum number of items
- 50 total items
- 15 outstanding requests
InterLibrary Loan
Link+ is a quick and easy way to request items not available at the Henry Madden Library from other participating libraries. The items are delivered to the Henry Madden Library for checkout.
We offer Interlibrary Loan services for items unavailable through the Library or Link+
Fees and Charges
Overdue Materials
$0.25 fine per day per item for the following:
- Books
- Teacher Resource Center
- Music scores
- Maps
- Government Documents
- Overdue fines for late-returned recalled items increase to $1 per day.
$1 per day per item for the following:
- Overdue recalled books
- Bound periodicals
- Books borrowed from other libraries
- Reserve 1 and 3 day loans
- Music & Media audio cassettes, compact discs, DVDs, and videos Current Periodicals
- Flip ultra HD Cameras
$1 per hour per item for the following:
- 2 hour Course and Music & Media Reserves
- Laptop adapters and bags
$10 per day:
- Linux and No Operating System Laptops
$10 per hour:
- Dell and Macbook Pro Laptops
$1 per hour:
- Group and Individual Study Rooms
Lost or Damaged Items
- Cost of item plus $10 processing fee plus $10 late fee for lost Henry Madden Library material
- $115 or higher for books borrowed from other libraries
