Advising the Liberal Studies Program

Navigating the Liberal Studies program can be complex. Students are encouraged to meet with a Liberal Studies advisor at least once a semester to insure steady and accurate progress toward graduation.

There are three advisors and one outreach counselor to serve students in the Education Student Services Center. Appointments can be scheduled by coming in to the center in the Education Building, room 100, or by phone, (559) 278-0300.

Students who may have advisors with EOP, CAMP, UMS, International Students, Athletics and Smittcamp Honors programs will receive guidance for matters relative to their individual programs. However, all students must meet with their Liberal Studies advisor in ED 100 to receive advising for the major.

It is important to note that even though guidance is provided by advisors, awareness and completion of all requirements for graduation is ultimately the student's responsibility.
