Graduate Degrees Overview

The Department of Literacy and Early Education currently offers a Masters of Arts in Education Degree with two options: Early Childhood Education and Reading/Language Arts.

MA with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education

The Master of Arts in Education with an option in early childhood education offers specialized preparation for a wide variety of positions in educational settings with children from birth through the primary grades. This program is designed to meet individual needs of candidates with different experiential and educational backgrounds and varied career objectives.

 

MA with an emphasis in Reading/Language Arts

The Master of Arts degree program in Education with an option in reading/language arts is designed to prepare educational professionals how to integrate contemporary theories of reading/language arts with sound pedagogical practice. Courses provide a foundation in elementary and secondary reading.

 

MA with an emphasis in Reading/Language Arts- online option

The Reading/Language Arts faculty invites you to apply to an exceptional Master's in Reading online program that prepares Reading/ Language arts specialists to function effectively as skilled practitioners and leaders in the profession. The Master's degree in Reading provides specialized preparation in reading/language arts for classroom and resource teachers, for reading and language development specialists, and for clinic and curriculum supervisors.
