BTSA

Our Induction (BTSA) Support courses are a way to offer participating teachers and support providers units for the work they are already doing in their districts!

You can earn up to 12 units for your Induction work: 6 units as a participating teacher, and 9 units for your work as a support provider (3 units per year).

To earn your units you only need to do four (4) things:

  • Register and pay for your class(es)
  • Complete the online survey (coming soon),
  • Complete the Verification of Hours form (only 45 hours needed),
  • Attend a seminar!

You must complete these requirements for each course you seek credit in. 

The courses are offered through the Division of Global and Continuing Education with a cost of $255 per 3 units.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I cannot attend the seminar on my assigned night?

It is preferable for you to attend on your assigned night so that you can be grouped for common questions; however, if you can’t attend on that night, you may attend one of the other two nights.

For example, if you are a Year 1 Participating teacher and cannot attend on either April 25 or 26 you can attend with the Support Providers on April 27.

Can I register for more than one year at the same time?

Yes! You can register for up to three years in one year, if you do the following:

• Register and pay for all classes,

• Attend one seminar for each year (maximum of three),

• Complete the surveys for each class,

• Submit one Verification of Hours form for each class. Each form must have a total of 45 hours. You can’t count the same hours twice!

I finished my BTSA Program several years ago. Can I still take this class?

Yes! As long as you have kept all your paper work from when you were in the program and can obtain the required signatures from your Support Provider and your Induction Director you can take the course. 

If you can NOT obtain the signatures from the original support provider and director, please contact us and we will see if we can make it work!

When can I get my grade/transcripts to turn in to my district?

Grades will be posted by Tuesday, May 31, 2017.

Check with your district to find out if you have to turn in official or unofficial transcripts. Unofficial can be downloaded directly from my.fresnostate.edu immediately. Do I need the Support Provider’s signature and the Induction Director’s Signature on the Verification of Hours form?

Yes, you must turn in both signatures on your Verification of Hours page.

Faxed or scanned signatures are accepted.

What do I bring to the mandatory seminar?

Bring your print-out of the Verification of Hours form with all signatures, if you do not have it at the seminar you will have to mail or bring it in ON OR BEFORE May 26.

Can I turn in my Verification of Hours form electronically?

At this time, we do not accept electronic copies, nor do we accept email attachments. Therefore please plan ahead so that you can turn in your printed form with original signatures by the evening of your seminar.
