Credentials Overview
Two credential programs to prepare teachers are housed in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
The Multiple Subject Credential prepares teaches to work in self-contained classrooms, which are primarily in elementary schools. In addition to the traditional program in which coursework is completed on campus, Teacher candidates may participate in the Central Valley Partnership for Exemplary Teachers (CPET), a site based cohort program.
The Single Subject program prepares teachers for departmentalized settings. Teacher candidates receive a credential to teach a specific subject, typically middle or high school classrooms.
