Mission: The Instructional Technology and Resource Center supports University faculty, staff, and students in the use of technology including but not limited to: The use of audio, video, computers and video equipment; reservation of technology classrooms, consultation rooms, and the TV Studio, the use of equipment for the preparation of instructional material such as a laminator, letter dye cut machine, binding machines and others. INTERESC provides support for video and web conferencing. In coordination with Technology Services, INTERESC maintains all Smart Classrooms in the Education Building. The Learning Resource Center catalogues and maintains collections of reference books, professional journals and publications, curriculum materials, manipulatives, testing materials, video/audio tapes and equipment and supply catalogues. It also houses the NASA Educator Resource Center and the Bonner Civic Education Collection. The Learning Resource Center is available to the University community as a study and meeting facility and provides faculty a place to keep reserved materials for student use. The Learning Resources Center located in room ED 420 maintains the only open computer lab in the Education Building with 12 computers.

Computer Support

INTERESC is collaboration with central Technology Services provides computer support to all Kremen School of Education and Human Development faculty and staff and maintains the computer classrooms and the computer laboratory. To request computer support, faculty and staff may call the Computer Support Office at 559-278-0380. Manuel Serrano or one of our student assistants will be glad to respond to the calls. 

TV and Media Production

The Instructional Technology and Resource Center assists faculty in the development and production of television programs and mediated projects to be used for instruction in the classroom or online. To request video or other media production services, faculty and staff may call the Learning Resource Center - 559-278-0377 or the INTERESC Director - 559-278-0379.


INTERESC offers a variety of workshops on the use of various software and technologies.  Faculty and staff are welcome to attend workshops as announced via e-mail.  

Learning Resource Center - Room ED 420

The Learning Resource Center is located in the Education Building room 420. The center provides services for faculty, staff and students.  It offers an open quiet space for study with wireless Internet access. The Center houses reading materials for the  Bonner Center for Character Education, the NASA Educator Resource Center, various reading and math materials and a small computer laboratory. Pay for print is available in this area. The LRC is also a hub for the DISCOVERe program. 

The center checks out equipment to faculty and staff.  Equipment includes digital cameras, P.A. systems, laptop computers, iOS tablets, SWIVL devices and other technologies.  To make reservations faculty and staff can call 559-278-0377 or they can go in person to room ED 420.

The center also provides technology classroom support.  Faculty who have questions or encounter difficulties with the operation of equipment in the classrooms located in the Education building can contact the LRC by calling 559-278-0377.  A student assistant will be glad to provide support to faculty in the classroom. 

Technology Classrooms Reservations

The INTERESC Director reserves the technology classrooms ED 157, ED 165 and ED 169.  Faculty and others requesting the use of rooms ED 157, ED 165 and ED 169 must complete a training seminar prior to their use. To reserve one these rooms, please contact Otto Benavides via email: 

The LRC is open from 8 AM to 8 PM Monday through Thursday and from 8 AM to 5 PM on Friday.  The center is closed on weekends.
