Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Kremen School of Education and Human Development. We are proud of our Liberal Studies program and many credential and graduate programs that prepare administrators, counselors, and other education professionals who are leaders for today’s diverse communities. The school is fortunate to have faculty and staff who are dedicated to the success of our students and who are involved in many centers and projects that extend beyond the university to provide service to the community.
The Kremen School is fully accredited at both the state and national levels. Our programs include Teacher, Counselor, & School Personnel Accreditation. We are the only university in our region to be accredited nationally in both teacher education and counseling.
Last year, we awarded 1,000 credentials, 360 master’s degrees, and nine doctorates. We just welcomed our third cohort into the independent Doctorate in Educational Leadership and our master's program in Rehabilitation Counseling is ranked third in the nation.
Kremen School faculty and students are committed to making a difference in our valley. The Central Valley Educational Leadership Institute is helping to close the achievement gap. Our partner school initiative is raising scores in schools across the valley. Mediator Mentors teaches conflict resolution in 66 elementary schools. We have 450 students working as either paraprofessionals or in after school programs, and our math and science credential programs are gaining national prominence.
The Kremen School is producing leaders and creating change. I hope you will join us to create a career, to improve your practice, or to make a difference in California.
Dr. Paul Beare, Dean
