This week on The Bluegrass Review:
03/13/10 - Our show opens with a couple of new bluegrass songs. Then, the Gem of Bluegrass segment muses over the evolution of bluegrass into a concert music. Later, great banjo stylist Alan Munde tells us about his method of composition. Then, it’s more happy sounding sad songs. We’re starting to think this type of song is one of bluegrass music’s great contributions to world music.

Producer and host Phil Nussbaum brings a wealth of expertise to the program. He holds a Ph.D. in Folklore from Indiana University, teaches aspiring players and radio producers at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has hosted bluegrass program on public radio stations nationwide for many years.
