I've been involved with music since the age of seven, when I began studying piano. I picked up the trumpet at the age of twelve; I am currently studying both instruments. I am in my third year as a jazz instrumental performance major at Fresno State where I study trumpet with Dr. Michael Caldwell.
I also play in the Jazz Orchestra (The 'A' jazz band) as well as the newly formed Fresno State Jazz Combo. I greatly enjoy performing and composing, and I aspire to perform and teach professionally in the jazz field after striving to earn a Masters and hopefully a Doctorate degree, both in jazz studies. - Justin Copeland
