Brief Introductory Statement
Tom Montgomery joined our team in July 2017 as winemaker for the Fresno State Winery, the first university in the nation to have a commercial winery on a university campus. Tom is responsible for all of production and management aspects of the full-scale winery and for providing an extensive hands-on learning environment for our enology students in the Department of Viticulture & Enology. The Fresno State Winery is used for the university's teaching, research, and production programs.
Tom's winemaking career began in the Central Valley, and after receiving his B.S.degree in enology and viticulture from Fresno State, he earned a reputation for producing award-winning wines in various grape growing regions of the state, including Napa and Sonoma Valley.
