Dr. Daming Zhang is a specialist in engine and power train, NVH (Noise, Vibration,
and Harshness) CAE, and finite element and boundary element simulation. His research
interests include engine technology and vehicle development, green energy and alternative
fuel, noise estimation and reduction, finite element and boundary element analysis
in automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, and optoelectronics industries, as well as
technology diffusion and rural industrialization. He teaches courses in vehicle, engine,
power train technologies, and quality management. Dr. Zhang is a member of Society
of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Association of Technology, Management and Applied
Engineering (ATMAE).
Before joining California State University at Fresno in 2008, Dr. Daming Zhang has
more than 12-year industrial experience working as Engineering Specialist at the Core
Engine Simulation Center of Excellence of Caterpillar Inc., Senior Engineer at the
Engine NVH Department of FEV Engine Technology Inc., and Senior Engineer of Optimal
CAE Inc. doing consulting at Chrysler Corporation and Ford Motor Company. Dr. Zhang
also has 10-year teaching experience at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of
Wayne State University, and the Department of Aerospace Engineering of Northwestern
Polytechnical University.
