Experience and Research: Kathie Reid-Bevington joined the faculty of the Department of Child, Family, and Consumer Science (CFCS) in 1998. With a background in early childhood education and research interests in emergent literacy and the development of racial attitudes, Dr. Reid-Bevington most often taught upper division courses such as CFS 134 - Multicultural Perspectives on Children and Families; CFS 140 - Advanced Child Development Theory; and CFS 146: Middle Childhood. Leadership roles included serving as Vice Chair of the Faculty Academic Senate, Interim Director of the Joyce M. Huggins Early Education Center, and CFCS Department Chair. While Chair, she was promoted to full professor, and then served as Interim Associate Dean for a year prior to her current appointment in July 2016.
