The beef feedlot is an integral aspect of the beef program at Fresno State. It serves as an important link to the instructional program as well as research, and is valuable to the development of industry relations. The feedlot is widely used in the Animal Science curriculum: beef production, beef management, introduction to animal science, animal health, meat animal evaluation, livestock selection, as well as numerous undergraduate and graduate research projects. The feedlot is critical in establishing a link between the university and beef producers. The feedlot serves as an excellent location to evaluate small groups of cattle from producers, as well as evaluating cattle from the university herds.
