Steve Olson holds the position of Publications Editor for the California Agricultural Technology Institute (CATI), which is a research unit within JCAST. He oversees dissemination of information of CATI-related research studies as well as from other campus-based research programs. He works in both print and electronic media. He obtained his bachelors degree in English Literature from Fresno Pacific University in 1973, a teaching credential in 1975, and a masters in nonfiction writing from Fresno State in 1984. He served a two-year term of Christian service as an elementary school teacher in Bolivia, South America, from 1975-77. He worked in the journalism profession from 1984 through 1989, holding the position of agricultural editor for the Turlock Journal from 1987-1989. He joined the CATI staff in 1989 as a contributing editor and has served as publications editor since 1992. He enjoys bicycle riding, camping, hiking, music, sports, and sometimes reading, in his spare time.
