A Message From the Dean

Charles BoyerEngaged students, faculty and staff are what make Fresno State the “Engaged University.” Where better to begin a career in agriculture and natural resources than in the number-one agriculture region in the world. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to serving our students. We seek to provide a variety of learning environments including involvement in research and public service.

The students in the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology are much broader than agriculture. Our students pursue careers in child and family development, food science, culinology and business. Within the diverse community in the San Joaquin Valley, our students have opportunities to grow and learn by engaging in work on the student farm, student food processing projects and the on-campus farm market. Within the region, students pursue work and intern experiences in business, and state and federal agencies. Other students participate in internships on the national level.

Beginning as students, our graduates have built their ability to make a difference by solving real world problems. They hold positions in leadership in agribusiness, education, manufacturing, research and human services. Our alumni are active in supporting the college and providing students unique learning opportunities. We are an engaged university and part of an engaged family of students, alumni, faculty and staff.

We invite you to become part of the college’s family: explore, discover, create. We challenge you to make a difference today – make a difference for a lifetime.
