Universal Waste
Universal wastes, while still hazardous, are special categories of waste that have been created to deal with these wastes in a special manner. This may be due to lower hazard, or large quantities of a special waste, to aid in the proper handling, storage, or to facilitate proper disposal and recycling of these wastes.
Common types of Universal Wastes include:
- Lamps (aka: fluorescent light bulbs)
- Electronic Devices
- Batteries
- Non-empty Aerosol Cans
- Empty aerosol cans as defined in the above linked document may be discarded as solid waste, or recycled as scrap
