Dr. Mathew Jendian- 2008  Recipient of the “2007 Social Action Award,” presented by Temple Beth Israel to a member of the Fresno community in recognition of significant service in alleviating major social problems.

Dr. Mathew Jendian- 2007  Recipient of the “Amigo Award,” presented by Vida en El Valle to "a non-Latino individual or organization that has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Latino community" in the Central Valley.

 

Dr. Mathew Jendian- 2006  Recipient of the “Compadre Award,” presented by George Cushman (Executive Director) and Jeffrey Vargas (National Chairman) of the Hispanic College Fund for leadership and commitment to the inaugural Fresno Hispanic Youth Symposium, August 4-6.

Dr. Kathie Reid- Recipient of the 2010 Spirit of Abraham Award from the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno. For increasing the understanding of Islam and Muslims and promoting the diversity and values of Islam. Fore more information visit the ICCF's website.

Joe Bezerra- As of October 1, 2011 has been appointed to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade (ATAC) in Animals and Animal Products.

Dr. Cui Lin (http://zimmer.csufresno.edu/~clin/index.html), Director of Computational Science Center- Recipient of the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Scholarship Award (http://gracehopper.org/2011/), selected from a competitive pool of over 1,100 qualified applicants, and Amazon Teaching Grants for Educators using AWS (http://aws.amazon.com/) to support her Cloud Computing course in Spring 2012.

Dr. Linda Hauser- Recipient of the  2010 Administrator of the Year Professor of Education Award Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), Region IX

Dr. Berta Gonzalez- Recipient of the Kremen School of Education and Human Development Professional Service Alumni Award in March 2011. She is the first Chicana in the history of Fresno State to receive this award for her contributions to the university, region, nationally and internationally.

Dr. Berta Gonzalez- Recipient of the Valley Heritage Award honoring the best of California's Central Valley Educator, October 2006. Associate Vice President and Professor Emerita Gonzalez was the first female Chicana in the history of Fresno to receive this honor.

Dr. Paulette Fleming, Art and Design, was named as one of Marjaree Mason Center's Top Business Professional Women of the Year.

Julie Moore, librarian in the Technical Services Department of the Henry Madden Library, is the 2010 winner of the Nancy B. Olson Award. This award recognizes a librarian who has made significant contributions to the advancement and understanding of audiovisual cataloging. As the plaque honoring Julie states, she was selected for significant and diverse contributions to audiovisual cataloging and catalogers at the local, state, and national levels over more than twenty years.

Dr. Benjamin Cuellar – Recipient of the Valley Heritage Award honoring the best of California’s Central Valley, October 2006. Dean Emeritus Cuellar was the first Chicano dean in the history of Fresno State.

Dr. Betty Garcia – Chair, National Association of Social Workers committee on standards for cultural competence.

Peter Robertson was humbly honored with receiving the “Spirit of Caring Award,” sponsored by James and Coke Hallowell and presented by HandsOn California, at the 43rd annual Hands Across the Valley Volunteers of the Year Awards Luncheon. He also received a President’s Volunteer Service Award from Barack Obama.

Peter Robertson has volunteered with the GLBTQ+ communities for nearly 25 years with several local organizations including United Student Pride, Fresno Reel Pride Film Festival, Central California Alliance, Fresno Pride Parade and Festival, Fresno Youth Alliance, GSA Network and the Rainbow Delegation.

Foundation Stuns Local Teacher with $25K Award—Lou Xiong is recognized as one of 55 selfless educators nationwide by the Milken Family Foundation

Alma Garcia has just been promoted to Area Director for PIQE.

Dr. Giri Hegde is an alumnus of the Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Studies.He has authored over 20 books, written hundreds of journal articles, lectured all over the world, and is a Fellow of the American Speech and Hearing Association.

Tate Hill is the Director of the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce.

John Hernandez is the Director of the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Stefani Booroojian currently anchors KSEE 24 News at 4, 5, 6 and 6:30 p.m.

Peter Robertson founded the Bulldog Pride Fund in 2006, a $195,000 endowment that will have, by next fall, provided 18 scholarships valued at $29,000 to Fresno State students. He is also a graduate of Leadership Fresno (Class XXV), a program of the Greater Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce.
