Mr. Michael Duncan won a grant and will be going to Buenos Aires this summer for twelve days for " PASI2012 Exploring the Terascale and Beyond." Congratulations Michael!
Mr. Steve Wilburn received the Kennedy Reed Award for "Best Theoretical Research by a Graduate Student" at the California Section meeting of the American Physical Society, California-Nevada Section on November 11-12, 2011. Congratulations Steve!

Join us for "Hands-On Fun with Physics" program this Saturday, Aug. 27 from 3-4PM in the Science Museum behind the Planetarium.

Physics will present demonstration shows in the Downing Planetarium Museum, have a welcome table in the courtyard of the Science II building, and the Downing Planetarium will have a show called "The Planets" at 4:15 and 5:15 PM. Come see presentations about the ATLAS project at CERN and tour research labs for nanotechnology and superconductivity. At 6PM in the Planetarium see what we're doing with observations using a remote observatory here in the Sierra's.

The Fresno State Physics Outreach crew is headed off to Pomona to present at the Society of Physics Students' Zone meeting. The poster is here. Presenters are Max Bright, Michael Duncan, William Dunn, Brian Emerson, Jeraldo Martinez, Jussi Amaral and Simon Gonzalez. Academic advisors are Dr. Pei-Chun Ho, Dr. Doug Singleton and Mr. Don Williams.
We are proud to present a regular Friday afternoon colloquium series, open to the public. You are invited to join us for the latest research in many fields.
