# Problem Solving Competitions

## High School Problem Solving Competition

The fourth annual High School Problem Solving Competition will be held on **Thursday, November 14, 2019**, from **5:20-7:30 PM**, in **Education 140**. All high school students are eligible to participate.

Contestants are given 5-6 problems for 2 hours. This competition is not multiple choice;
full solutions/proofs are expected. The first place winner is invited to participate
in the Adnan H. Sabuwala PSC. The top three scorers are awarded prizes at the Department
of Mathematics Day, Friday, November 22, 2019.

**Registration**

To participate in the competition, complete the registration form.

## Adnan H. Sabuwala Problem Solving Competition

Adnan H. Sabuwala Problem Solving Competition will be held on **Monday, November 18, 2019**, from **5:20-7:30 PM**, in **Agriculture Mechanics 102**. All Fresno State students (including part-time and high school students taking classes
at Fresno State this semester) are eligible to participate.

Dr. Adnan H. Sabuwala was a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics from 2008-2019. He was passionate about mathematics problem solving, and promoted problem solving competitions for students of all ages. This competition is held in his memory, on his birthday.

Contestants are given 5-6 problems for 2 hours. This competition is not multiple choice; full solutions/proofs are expected. The top three scorers are awarded prizes at the Department of Mathematics Day, Friday, November 22, 2019.
