Department of Mathematics Day (DMD) 2019

Friday, November 22, 2019

Our next Department of Mathematics Day (DMD) will occur on Friday, November 22nd. The DMD is a day of student presentations, games, a talent show and general merriment aimed at strengthening our campus and academic community. Students will talk about intriguing mathematics-related problems between 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., a social will take place between 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., lunch 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., we'll play board games between 1:00 - 2:45 p.m., and there will be a gala fest from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m., including a Math Jeopardy game and a talent show.

The event is open to all and we would very much appreciate everyone stopping by, mingling with our students and faculty, and participating in any of the ongoing games and events. We hope that this event will help us transcend our traditional campus roles, and instead will feature the participants as campus citizens, enjoying a day of scholarly and recreational interaction.

We hope to see you all at our fifth annual Department of Mathematics Day next fall!

With kindest regards,

Department of Mathematics
