Department of Mathematics Day (DMD) 2020

The Department of Mathematics Day 2020 will take place virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Our 2020 Department of Mathematics Day (DMD) is scheduled for Friday, November 20th. Although we will be unable to gather in person to celebrate mathematics this November, the event will be held virtually. The DMD is a day of student presentations, games, a talent show and general merriment aimed at strengthening our campus and academic community. Students will talk about intriguing mathematics-related problems between 9:00-11:00 a.m.; an Ignite Talk and Options Fair will take place from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; we'll play games from 12:45-2:00 p.m.; and there will be Math Jeopardy from 2:30-3:30 p.m., followed by Closing and Awards Ceremonies at 3:30 p.m. The Talent Show will be virtual, with videos posted to the main Department of Mathematics Day website, given below.

The event is open to all and we would very much appreciate everyone virtually stopping by, mingling with our students and faculty, and participating in any of the ongoing games and events.

With kindest regards,
