Opportunities for Research with ICOA

Climate Research opportunities are available for undergraduates with the Geosciences METRO program.

The METRO (Mentoring, Education, Teaching, Research and Outreach) Center at Fresno State draws undergraduate students together in the fascinating disciplines of the Geosciences.  The program offers opportunities for real-world experience and post-graduate career development.  METRO students tackle issues that impact the local and global environment, such as air pollution, water resources, clean energy solutions and climate change.

The METRO Center is a collaboration among Fresno State, Fresno City College and Reedley College.  Its goal is to increase diversity in the Geosciences by raising the numbers of ethnic minorities, women and students from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds obtaining undergraduate degrees in relevant science and engineering fields.

The METRO Center is funded by the National Science Foundation.
