The Chemistry MS Program

The Chemistry department offers two MS Chemistry program plans. Both require a total of 30 units for graduation. Plan A (M.S. with Thesis) is designed for students interested in Ph.D programs and laboratory-based careers. Plan B (M.S. with Comprehensive Examination) is appropriate for students interested in teaching at the High School and Community College level. Both plans require a total of 30 units for graduation.

Students in both programs must also satisfy the Graduate Writing Requirement. This is usually completed as part of the Advanced Research Techniques course.
