The Herbarium at California State University Fresno

Nearly 100 years ago Dr. C.H. Quibell established the herbarium at California State University Fresno, then Fresno State College.  The goal of the herbarium is to represent the broad diversity of plant species present in California’s Central Valley and serve as a resource for teaching plant identification and plant phylogeny.  Currently, the herbarium contains approximately 35,000 pressed specimens with smaller collections of different wood types and gymnosperm cones. The curator of the herbarium is Dr. Katherine Waselkov, who can be reached by email at kwaselkov@csufresno.edu. Please contact her for access and further information.
