What is the Center for the Scholarly Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CSALT)?
The Center for the Scholarly Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CSALT) began on Thursday, October 8th by outlining twelve new programs and initiatives, and acknowledging its roots in the 1989 Faculty Professional Development Center and in 1994, the Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning under the direction of Dr. Lynda Harding and the Dr. Roy Bohlin.
CSALT has continued its mission and integration of activities with TILT to
- promote pedagogy and research,
- incorporate evidence-based practices to improve learning and
- encourage effective technology use to enhance learning.
The Center for the Scholarly Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CSALT) programs include:
- Improving Student Writing Initiative (ISWI)
- Partners In Excellence (P.I.E.) Peer Coaching Program
- Peer Observation of Teaching (Intense, one-on-one consultation with a faculty observer to improve teaching)
- Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Initiative (SoLT)
- Improving Student Studying Skills Initiative (ISSSI)
- Untenured Faculty Organization (UFO)
