Mission

The Institute for Family Business’s mission is to provide a forum for education, resources, and community network directed to the unique needs of the family-owned and closely-held partnerships in the Central California area with the intent of improving and helping in the success of families and their businesses.

The Institute provides a forum where important family business issues can be openly addressed, encouraging the exchange of ideas and information Happy familyamong leading experts and family business owners. As a comprehensive resource center, we offer family-owned businesses:

  • Four annual seminars – these seminars cover both broad business issues such as strategic planning, but also cover issues more unique to families and partnerships, such as succession and conflict management, and relationship issues that are critical and prevalent due to the personal involvement within family-owned organizations
  • Four affinity meetings – workshops that are specifically designed for particular members, such as siblings
  • Quarterly newsletter – current events and family business articles
  • Craig School of Business Resources – recruitment of graduates as potential employees, interns, student teams and other services
  • Reference library – family-business oriented literature
  • Network and advisory – planned sessions coinciding with seminars to meet advisory members in a non-commercial atmosphere for those pressing family-business and general-business issues
