Message from Interim Dean Donald Stengel

Interim Dean of Craig School of Business - Donald StengelWelcome to the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno. All of our business programs are accredited by the prestigious AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and recognized by the Princeton Review as a top business program, we are justifiably proud of the achievements of our students, faculty and staff. We are fortunate to have a vested interest from donors who provide private support to enhance the educational experiences for our students. Further, we are proud to offer opportunities for our alumni to stay engaged and connected with their alma mater.

Undergraduate students choose from a variety of options for their bachelors' degree. We offer a B.S. in Business Administration, a B.A. in Economics, and recently a B.A. in Fashion Merchandising. The Accelerated Bachelors in Business Administration (ABBA) Program allows completion of junior and senior year requirements in a general business option in just 17 months. The school also offers Master of Business Administration (MBA), including an Executive MBA program.

At the Craig School, we emphasize the importance of student engagement in valuable experiences both in and out of the classroom. Thus, not only do we offer high quality business courses, we also offer opportunities to engage in many experiences outside the classroom. Our International Business Program has both a summer abroad program and semester long exchanges with nearly twenty international universities. We have an award-winning Internship Program to provide access for students to gain valuable practical experience. Interns learn to apply their knowledge in real world settings while employers learn the value of mentoring and benefit from the ability to hire great employees. A service learning component engages students in community service, something we think is not only valuable but also an important link with the community. Finally, the Craig School has many very active, professional clubs and organizations where students form lifetime friendships and network with professionals from their fields.

The Craig School also offers many scholarship opportunities including the prestigious four-year Craig Scholarships for incoming freshmen and the Fresno Merchants Association Scholarships for both graduate students and incoming freshmen. We also award over 100 scholarships annually for continuing business students.

In the Craig School of Business we value and honor our sister schools and colleges, along with the many student activities on campus; because of them our students receive an enhanced experience by being part of the larger university environment. Whether it's exploring theater, art or music, seeking to leverage a business education into the medical field, attending a NCAA Division 1 athletic event at an on-campus stadium, watching a concert at the on-campus Save Mart Center, enjoying a play at the University Theater, or competing in intramural sports, the University is alive with events which round out the college experience. Additionally, our Valley location lends itself to quick trips to our gorgeous mountains (3 national parks within 1 – 1½ hours) and our refreshing central coast (about 2 ½ hours).

The sum of what the Craig School offers is an engaging, challenging and rewarding college experience for students who seek the opportunity to earn more than just a business degree. Thank you for your interest and for visiting our website.
