Projects & Programs

SWERT houses six projects and programs that help the community:

Adult Services Training Academy (ASTA)
Develops and provides core and fundamental training geared toward educating the regions Adult Protective Services (APS) workers.

Bay Area Training Academy (BAA)
Serves a 12-county region in the Bay Area whose primary audience are agencies that serve children in out-of-home care. The Bay Area Academy offers training, coaching and technical assistance services to assist Bay Area child welfare agencies with achieving their goals of safety, permanency and well-being for children, youth and families in their communities.

The Central California Area Social Services Consortium (CCASSC)
A partnership that has expanded throughout the years and benefited from multiple collaborative efforts among counties and universities. It provides a forum to discuss ideas and develop strategies that address pressing human service issues faced by residents in the region.  The consortium is a resource for county human service directors in strategic planning, action-oriented research, program and policy training, and revenue/resource management training.

The Central California Training Academy (CCTA),
Serves an 12-county region of Central California, trains newly hired and experienced child welfare staff, supervisors, and managers of public child welfare agencies. The academy has been adopted as a statewide model, allowing Fresno State to develop partnerships throughout the Valley and assess whether current social services are meeting people’s needs.
