MSW Application Materials
All applications will be DUE on January 31, 2019 at 5:00 PM.
Note: Requirements for the next admission cycle are subject to change without prior notification.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS (967K)
Once you have read the instructions, proceed to complete all of the following items:
Your Application Packet Will Need The Following:
Statement of Purpose
You can find the Statement of Purpose questions when you download our application. It should enable the MSW Admissions Committee to make an informed decision about your potential for success in the Graduate Social Work Program.
All references should use the DEPARTMENT REFERENCE FORM (they may add an additional letter) in a sealed envelope with his/her name written across the sealed flap. If needed, you should provide your reference with a stamped self-addressed envelope. The reference returns the document to you. Suitable references include employers/supervisors, professional and academic references. Do not use relatives or social acquaintances as references.
CAL STATE APPLY Application Proof/Receipt
You will need to submit a separate application at CAL STATE APPLY where you will be applying to attend graduate school at Fresno State. We will need you to print out the last page and/or your confirmation email in order to prove you have applied. You need to apply to CAL STATE APPLY prior to turning in your MSW Program application.
We need unofficial transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions you have attended (Community and 4-year colleges/universities.) Please make sure your copies contain both front and back.
- OFFICIAL transcripts will be required to be sent to the Graduate Admissions Office as requested through the CAL STATE Apply Application process.
- INCLUDING OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS IN YOUR DEPARTMENT APPLICATION DOES NOT CLEAR YOU WITH GRADUATE ADMISSIONS OFFICE.
- If your undergraduate institution did not issue grades (e.g., A through F), the registrar of that institution needs to interpret your transcript to reflect grades.
- Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be reviewed by International Admissions.
