Field Based Trainer
Rosa Felix is the Field Based Trainer for the Specialized Foster Parent Training Project for the Central California Center for Health and Human Services. Rosa graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work during the spring semester of 2002 with a certificate in Victim Services. Rosa has been working with the Specialized Foster Parent Training Project for 8 years now.
As a Field Based Trainer, Rosa assists the prospective foster parents with completing foster parent applications and she also assists licensed foster parents with any requirements, information, and support services in a variety of areas. She attends the English/Spanish Foster Parent Orientations and has co-facilitated Foster/Adopt Pride classes, Co-facilitates the Spanish Coffee Connection meetings which are a support group for Spanish speaking foster parents. Rosa also does trainings for the required on-going training classes as a requirement for foster parents. Rosa is bilingual in English and Spanish, and is actively involved with the Hispanic community. She translates curriculum for our Spanish speaking foster parents as well as serves as a translator when necessary. Rosa also works once a week at the Best Dressed Kids a store for foster children. Rosa is certified as an Instructor Trainer for First Aid/CPR, and Foster/Adopt Pride.
Rosa enjoys spending time with her son and family. Rosa also enjoys her job and spending time with her co-workers. Through the experience of her work Rosa has been inspired to work more for her community and the children around her as well as further her education in pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work, and share her strengths and knowledge.
