Students recipients of Undergraduate Research Funds
July 29, 2014 - Christopher Morazan and Sergio Franco will pursue their project on orthopedic outcomes data, due to funds awarded to them through the 2014-2015 Undergraduate Research Grant program, which is spearheaded by the Division of Academic Affairs at Fresno State. Morazan and Franco will receive $1,000 each, respectively, to further advance their studies in the area of kinesiology. Read more.
Fresno State welcomes School of Nursing
July 21, 2014 - The formal name for Fresno State’s Department of Nursing has officially been changed to the School of Nursing, effective July 17th, as per Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro. The school will remain under the College of Health and Human Services. Read more.
Dr. Betty Garcia appointed to Social Work Council
July 21, 2014 - Dr. Betty Garcia, professor in the department of social work education, was appointed to the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Council on Publications. Read more.
School of Nursing program receives $700,000 in grant funds
July 17, 2014 - The Central California Center for Excellence in Nursing (CCCEN) received a $700,000 grant from the Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship program that will fund scholarships for 92 nurse practitioner students. Read more.
Kinesiology faculty present at national coaching conference
July 14, 2014 - Faculty in the Kinesiology Department recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the 2014 National Coaching Conference. Dr. Wade Gilbert and Tim Hamel, along with graduate student Inge Milius, were given the unique opportunity to present at this conference, which brought in over 230 attendees. Read more.
Grant opens doors for new opportunities for School of Nursing
July 3, 2014 - The School of Nursing will now be able to expand their clinical outreach services to underserved areas, thanks to grants by the Song-Brown Program. In just a six month period alone, Fresno State has received over $600,000 in grant funding by this program. Read more.

University breaks ground on new Physical Therapy Building
May 14, 2014 - The College of Health and Human Services is expanding its services, with the groundbreaking of the new Physical Therapy and Sport Administration building. The new 22,000 square foot facility, located near the North Gym and Aquatics Center, will serve as the main location for the Physical Therapy Department and various athletic coaches. Read more.
