The faculty actively engage in the profession by participating in collaborative research with scholars from universities around the world and serving on editorial boards of major academic journals and. Jenelle N. Gilbert, Ph.D

Dr. Jenelle N. Gilbert is an Associate Professor and the Graduate Program Coordinator in the Kinesiology Department at CSU, Fresno.Dr. Gilbert holds degrees in physical education, human kinetics and education from the University of Ottawa. Her ongoing line of research includes stress and coping in athletics and performance enhancement intervention.She co-developed the UNIFORM program that teaches mental skills strategies aimed at enhancing academic and sport performance.She has provided sport psychology services to performers of all ages and competitive levels including youth, collegiate, Olympic and Master's athletes. Wade D. Gibert, Ph.D.

Dr. Wade Gilbert is an Associate Professor and Sport Psychology Coordinator in the Department of Kinesiology at California State University, Fresno. Dr. Gilbert earned degrees in Physical Education (B.P.E.), Human Kinetics (M.A.), and Education (Ph.D.) from the University of Ottawa. Upon completion of his doctoral degree he was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship with the International Center for Talent Development at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Gilbert's areas of expertise include sport and exercise psychology, coaching science, physical education, talent development, and youth sport. Dr. Gilbert has contributed to over 100 conference presentations around the world, co-authored over 60 papers in a wide range of academic periodicals or books, and has received over 40 grants and honors including the Dorothy V. Harris Memorial Award from the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and the Provost's Award for Promising New Faculty at California State University, Fresno. Dr. Gilbert is the Associate Editor for the Journal of Sport Psychology in Action and sits on editorial boards for The Sport Psychologist, International Journal of Sports Science & Coaching, Quest, and the Journal of Coaching Education. In 2006 Dr. Gilbert was invited to join a United Nations Expert Panel on Millennium Development Goals Integration through Sport and Physical Education and most recently was a keynote speaker at the 2010 AIESEP World Congress in Spain. Dr. Gilbert is currently co-editing the inaugural Handbook of Sports Coaching and collaborating on numerous sports coaching effectiveness projects. Wade has also contributed to the design and provision of sport psychology consulting services for coaches and elite amateur athletes in a wide range of sports and is a scientific advisor to BeLikeCoach, a national non-profit created to improve the quality of youth sport settings in the United States. Dawn K. Lewis, Ph.D.

Dr. Dawn K. Lewis is an Associate Professor in the Kinesiology Department at CSU, Fresno.She earned her B.A. in psychology at Hunter College of the City University of New York, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport and exercise psychology at Michigan State University.Dr. Lewis' research and consulting focus on performance enhancement, athletes' recovery from sport injury (including the examination of social support structures, coping skills, and rehab adherence), and youth and adolescent development through sport.She has lead several injury support groups for athletes, and served as an independent reviewer of a coaches' certification program and a high school sport leadership program. Tim Hamel, M.S.

Mr. Tim Hamel received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from CSU, Fresno and his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in applied sport psychology from CSU, Fullerton. While at Fullerton, he studied under top sport psychology consultant, Dr. Ken Ravizza. Mr. Hamel has extensive experience consulting with individuals and athletic teams from the high school, community, college, university, and professional levels.His current research interests include coach effectiveness, youth sport and performance enhancement.He has experience as a youth sport coach in soccer and baseball and is a member of numerous sport and physical education organizations.
