The opportunities are endless for what one can do with a degree in Deaf Education. Students with education about and experience with the Deaf community are constantly in need in situations where contact can occur between deaf and hearing individuals. Places to work include hospitals, classrooms and specialty programs set up for deaf or hard of hearing individuals.
The first step to working in this field is acquiring a degree in Deaf Education from any school that offers the program, including Fresno State. Work settings include health departments, government agencies, legal settings and public school settings. With the variety of settings available, a master's degree is strongly recommended.
Pay range also varies greatly because of the variety of settings and jobs available. For more information, contact the Communicative Disorders office (PHS 252) or go to www.gallaudet.edu.
