Dr. Howard Ono is a Professor of Chemistry at California State University, Fresno. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. After Postdoctoral work in the Biochemistry Department at Brandeis University, he joined the Chemistry Department at California State University, Fresno, where he has been Assistant, Associate and Full Professor, and Department Chair.
Areas of Specialty
Dr. Ono teaches undergraduate courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry as well as graduate level courses in biochemistry/molecular biology. He is also involved in enrichment programs with instructors and students in local high schools. His main areas of research have been in improving techniques used in forensic DNA analysis.
