Self-Paced Online Tutorial (SPOT) – Writing
For more details about the SPOT – Writing, click the tabs on the left.
Fresno State is piloting a unique opportunity for students to improve their writing skills with this self-paced online tutorial. Available beginning in Spring 2013, this SPOT is completely FREE for students (although space is limited). Additional fees may apply for the UDWR.

The SPOT is ideal for those who have not yet completed the Upper Division Writing Requirement (UDWR), as the tutorial will help you develop your writing skills in preparation for the UDWR. A faculty Writing Mentor will provide guidance, feedback, and help you become a successful academic reader and writer in any context.
While study is self-paced, you will have a maximum of six months to complete the tutorial. The SPOT is conducted on Blackboard, allowing you to log in and study at your convenience.
Students proud of the work developed in SPOT may elect to have their written work transformed into an e-portfolio for judgment of UDWR equivalence.

Space is limited in SPOT and a very small number of students will be enrolled this spring in the pilot program. To be placed on the waiting list, visit the SPOT application page at https://i.learn.fresnostate.edu/spot/signup.html. As space becomes available, students on the waiting list will be notified by email of their enrollment in SPOT.
