The application period for the Spring 2019 cohort is August 1 - December 1, 2018.

NOTE: You must complete both the University Graduate and Department (Program) Admission procedures. Your application will not be complete until both procedures are finished.

1. University Graduate Admission

All graduate and postbaccalaureate applicants must file a complete graduate application as described in the graduate and postbaccalaureate admissions materials at Cal State Apply. Only online (electronic) applications are accepted. 

The application period for the Spring 2019 cohort is August 1 - December 1, 2018.

Early application is highly encouraged as space in the program is limited. To expedite the application process through Cal State Apply, please notify us of your intent to enroll before applying online. Please email the program coordinator, Dr. Peter Van de Water, at pvandewater@csufresno.edu and cc Wendy Larson at wlarson@csufresno.edu.

The University has individual application requirements administered by the Division of Research and Graduate Studies. They require specific admission items, such as the submission of the Cal State Apply online graduate application and application fee, official transcripts, and graduate level test scores (GRE for this program).

International Students (and some applicants with foreign documents) must also submit formal TOEFL scores. Specific admission requirements of the Division of Graduate Studies.

NOTE: the $55 application fee is non-refundable, even if you apply to the University after the admission deadline.

2. Department (Program) Admission

After completing the University Graduate Admission process, you must submit application materials to the program coordinator.

The application period for the Spring 2019 cohort is August 1 - December 1, 2018.

Your Application should also include the following materials:

  • One letter of recommendation from an individual who can attest to your preparation for advanced study (this letter may be included in the application sent by you, or may be sent separately by your evaluator). Please send as a Word or Adobe PDF document.
  • International students must also submit an unofficial copy of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores.  Our international students must score a minimum 80 composite TOEFL or a 6.5 overall band score on the IELTS.
  • A Curriculum Vita or Resume detailing your additional education and related work experience applicable to this program.

How Will I Be Notified?

You will be notified by the Division of Graduate Studies regarding your University application, and by the Water Resource Management Program office regarding your application to the program.

Please note: application to Fresno State through Cal State Apply and submission of your additional application materials does NOT constitute acceptance into the WRM degree program. The program coordinator will notify you when you are accepted and will provide you with instructions on how to register for class.
